San Francisco Bulls News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls (11-15-3-1) lost a 7-6 thriller against the Stockton Thunder (15-10-0-4) in overtime Saturday night at Stockton Arena. Dean Ouellet, Adrian Foster, and Chris Crane each had three-point nights and Kyle Bigos dropped the gloves in a back-and-forth road tilt that saw the Bulls pick up another point in the standings against their Northern California rival.
Crane started the scoring on a deflection off a Kalvin Sagert point shot 6:33 into the game. Tyler Gron added his team-leading 14th goal of the season 1:21 later, taking a Jordan Morrison pass in the slot before sniping one past Stockton netminder Brian Foster. With 8:27 left, Mitch Bruijsten beat Tyler Beskorowany with 8:27 left in the period before Dean Ouellet's one-timer off an Adrian Foster feed restored the Bulls' two-goal lead with 1:43 left in the first. Despite the two-goal lead, the Bulls were out-shot by Stockton 12-8.
The Thunder clawed their way back in the second period on a Greg Miller tally 36 seconds in, before tying the game on Bruijsten's second goal of the game with 8:02 left in the second period. Collin Bowman put the Bulls on top 4-3. Gron and Morrison earned the assists on the goal with 6:32 left in the middle frame. Joey Martin knotted the game at four 1:26 later. Alex MacLeod gave the Thunder their first lead with just 32 seconds remaining in the period. The Bulls fired seven shots on Foster to the Thunder's nine in the period.
Crane beat Foster in the slot, 4:33 in to the final period to tie the game at five. Ouellet assisted on the goal for his second helper and third point of the night. Foster then tipped one through Brian Foster 7:31 in to give the Bulls a 6-5 advantage. MacLeod again drew Stockton even with 7:21 remaining in regulation after beating J.P. Anderson who entered the game in relief of Beskorowany at the start of the period. After 60 minutes of play the Bulls trailed Stockton on the shot clock 33-24.
In overtime, Miller provided the game-winner on the power play, banking one in past Anderson with 45 seconds left in overtime. The Bulls were out-shot 38-24.
The Bulls and Thunder meet for the third time this weekend Sunday afternoon at Stockton Arena. The puck drops at 4 pm.
