December 29, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Ontario Reign News Release

ANCHORAGE, AK - The Ontario Reign (20-5-1-3), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, were shut out in a 3-0 loss to the Alaska Aces (18-8-1-0) on Saturday night at Sullivan Arena.

Ontario's loss marked their first road defeat since November 11 when they suffered a shootout loss ultimately ending the team's nine-game road win streak.

The Aces found the back of the net at the 2:42 mark of the second period with a wrist shot from center ice off the stick of Tim Coffman. Tommy Mele scored at 15:45 to give the Aces a 2-0 lead with a quick shot past Michael Hutchinson's glove-side. The play was started by Evan Trupp and Matthew Sisca who were tangled up with Reign skaters in the corner.

With about 30 left in regulation Peter Sivak scored on the Reign's empty net to give the Aces a 3-0 shutout.

Hutchinson took the loss with 29 saves; Roy took the shutout win with 16 saves.
