ROUND ROCK, Texas - Jason Lane's two-run double ignited a five-run seventh inning to lead the New Orleans Zephyrs over the Round Rock Express 7-3 on Friday night at The Dell Diamond. It was the fourth consecutive loss for the Express (2-7), falling to 1-4 against New Orleans (5-4) this season.

Trailing 2-3, the Zephyrs batted through their order in the top of the seventh as Bryan Peterson and Logan Morrison scored on the line drive double down the left field line with two outs for Lane. Scott Cousins then lined a single to center as Lane scored. Danny Richar's two RBI double ended the big scoring inning for the Zephyrs as he drove in Cousins and Brett Hayes.

That made a winner of Zephyrs reliever Chris Schroder (1-0), who tossed a perfect sixth inning. New Orleans' starter Hunter Jones, gave up one earned run in 5.0 innings, scattering five hits with six strikeouts. A.J. Battisto and Brett Sinkbeil finished the last three innings not allowing a run.

Express reliever Jared Wells (0-1) earned the loss, allowing five runs in 0.2 innings in the seventh, giving up five hits and allowing one walk. Starter Polin Trinidad tossed 5.0 innings, giving up two earned runs on two hits with four strikeouts.

The Express took the 2-0 lead in first after Jason Bourgeois scored on an Edwin Maysonet triple. Maysonet scored as the next batter, Brian Bogusevic, reached first base on a fielding error. In the third, Chris Shelton extended his nine-game hitting streak, driving in Bogusevic on a double.

Round Rock and New Orleans continue their four-game series Saturday at The Dell Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT. The Express send left-hander Wesley Wright (0-0, 2.25) to the mound, while the Zephyrs counter with righty Matt DeSalvo (0-1, 16.20).
