RH Guillermo Moscoso (0-0, 4.50) vs. RH Adam Ottavino (1-0, 5.40)

TONIGHT: The RedHawks play their first road game of the season as they open a 4-game series with the defending PCL Champion Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals) at AutoZone Park. Following the Memphis series, OKC visits the Nashville Sounds for 4 games. The RedHawks have won a season-high 3 straight after trimming Round Rock 3-2 last night. All the scoring was contained in the first 3 innings. Righthander Guillermo Moscoso makes his second 2010 start tonight. Moscoso faced Memphis once last year, earning a win in his Triple-A debut against the Redbirds June 3, allowing 1 run on 6 hits in 6 innings at OKC. Righthander Adam Ottavino gets the ball for Memphis. He was 0-2 with a 9.28 ERA in 3 starts against the 2009 RedHawks.

ROTATION WINS THIRD STRAIGHT: After not receiving a decision in the first five games, the RedHawks' rotation has earned the win in 3 consecutive contests. Lefthander Michael Kirkman went 5 innings for last night's win, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits. OKC has 4 quality starts among its first 8 games, two by Derek Holland and two by Brandon McCarthy. Collectively, OKC's starters have allowed 14 earned runs on 38 hits in 45 innings, a 2.80 ERA.

LATE INNINGS: OKC has scored 39 runs this season and 17 have come in the seventh and eighth innings. OKC has plated 10 runs in the seventh inning alone. OKC has 8 home runs as a team and 6 have come in the sixth inning or later. Four have tied the game or given the RedHawks the lead. Chad Tracy's 2-run blast in the seventh on Saturday put the RedHawks in front 6-5 against Albuquerque. In the Round Rock series, Mitch Moreland tied the score 5-5 in Monday's ninth with a 2-run shot, Hernan Iribarren snapped a 0-0 tie on Tuesday with a 2-run, inside-the-park homer. Tracy gave OKC the lead for good 2-1 with a tie-breaking solo shot in the sixth on Wednesday.

OFFENSE AMONG LEADERS: OKC's .307 team batting average is second among PCL clubs through 8 games (Albuquerque, .328). The RedHawks' .389 team on-base percentage is No. 1. OKC is second in slugging (.491) behind Albuquerque, which amassed 21 hits yesterday. OKC is seventh in runs with 39.

STREAKERS: Justin Smoak has built a 6-game hitting streak (8-for-19, .421) and has hit safely in 7 of 8 games played. Hernan Iribarren has hit safely in all 5 games he has played (7-for-18, .389). Craig Gentry owns 5-game hitting and 6-game on-base streaks. Max Ramirez has reached by hit or walk in all 6 he's played.

FIELD STAFF BACK: RedHawks skipper Bobby Jones is back for his 10th season in Oklahoma City, the fourth during his current stint. Jones, the winningest manager in OKC's Triple-A history, previously managed the RedHawks from 2002-05 and the 89ers in 1993-94. With 1,359 career managerial wins, Jones leads all minor league managers in Rangers franchise history. Pitching coach Terry Clark, coach Scott Coolbaugh and athletic trainer Jason Roberts all return for the second seasons in Oklahoma City. Strength coach Ric Mabie is in his fourth local season.

DOT...DOT...DOT: the RedHawks have not been out-hit this year...they have collected more hits than the opposition six times (4-2) and had an even hit total twice (1-1)....after stealing 1 base in its first 4 games, OKC has swiped bases in 4 straight (7 SB in last 4 games)...OKC has hit into 13 double plays, while turning 3 in the field...closer Pedro Strop has stranded all 5 runners inherited from previous pitchers...Strop leads the team with 4 relief appearances...OKC's bullpen has converted 3 straight save chances after failing to hold their first 2. Round Rock's hit totals the last final 3 games of the just-concluded series (5, 5 and 4) represent the three lowest by an OKC opponent this season...OF Brandon Boggs has accompanied the team on the trip...Boggs played only the season opener before going on the DL with right shoulder tendinitis.
