Evans Designated For Assignment To Salt Lake, Coon Released

SALT LAKE CITY (April 16, 2010) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced that the club has designated outfielder Terry Evans for assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake. To make room for Evans on the roster, outfielder Brad Coon was released.

Evans, 28, has appeared in one game for the Angels this season after making his first Major League opening day roster. The Dublin, Ga. native appeared in 11 games with the Angels in 2009, hitting .286 with two hits and one RBI. In 135 games with the Bees last season, he hit .291 with a career-high 26 homeruns and 28 stolen bases.

Coon, 27, appeared in five games for the Bees this season, hitting .353 with one triple, two RBI and two stolen bases. In 2009, he hit .276 with 15 doubles, three triples, four homeruns, 36 RBI and 23 stolen bases for Salt Lake. The Euclid, Ohio native was originally selected by the Angels in the 15th round of the 2005 draft.
