Seven Lumberjacks Register One Point in 4-2 Victory

MUSKEGON, MI - In the final home game of the season, seven different Muskegon Lumberjacks registered at least one point to knock off the United States National Team Developmental U17 Program 4-2. With the win, the Lumberjacks improve to (25-23-7) on the season, and (7-1-1) in the final nine home games.

The Lumberjacks scored the lone first period 13:38 into the first period. Matej Paulovic netted his 19th goal of the season after forcing a Team USA turnover, and sliding the puck past Dylan St. Cyr to give Muskegon a 1-0 lead.

Four minutes into the second period, Grant Mismash tied the game at one. Muskegon would counter with two goals in less than two minutes. Dante Palecco netted his 12th goal of the season, when he roofed the puck past St. Cyr. Daniel DiGrande and Paulovic registered the assists on the goal. Rem Pitlick netted his 43rd goal of the season after Derek Daschke sent him in on a breakaway. With the goal, Pitlick extended his home scoring streak to 26 games.

Muskegon would score an early third period goal to give them a three-goal advantage. Tyler Irvine poked the puck past St. Cyr after a mad scramble in front of the net, to give the Lumberjacks a 4-1 lead 48 seconds into the third period. Bobby Kaiser and DiGrande registered the assists on the goal. Brady Tkachuk cut the Lumberjacks lead to two goals 3:36 into the third period, but Joey Daccord and his 33 saves would hold on and lift Muskegon to a 4-2 victory.

The Muskegon Lumberjacks (25-23-7) will return to action next Thursday, March 31st, to take on the United States National Team Developmental U18 program (21-27-6). It will be the start of the final five games of the season, all of which will be on the road.
