July 13, 2022 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
St. Cloud Rox News Release
St. Cloud, MN - St. Cloud (32-9) lost for the first time in the second half on Wednesday, dropping the series finale, 5-3, against La Crosse (20-22)
It was another sensational day on the mound for Joseph Brandon (Georgia State) in his second start of the season. Brandon tossed five shutout innings for the second straight appearance, striking out a season-high eight batters and allowing just two hits.
The Rox got on the board early as John Nett (St. Cloud State) scored from third as Brice Matthews (Nebraska) drew a throw stealing second base. Nett leads the Northwoods League with 51 runs scored this season.
Carson Keithley (Texas State) also came through with a huge hit to give the Rox the lead in the seventh inning. Keithley sent a double out to right-center field to put St. Cloud on top 5-3.
Out of the bullpen, Danny Glenos (Montevallo) threw a perfect seventh inning to keep the Rox in it late in the game.
