Portland, Ore. - Former Winterhawks and brothers Seth and Caleb Jones will play together for the first time in their professional careers after the Chicago Blackhawks acquired Seth from the Columbus Blue Jackets Friday afternoon.
Seth, the elder brother at age 26, played the last five and a half seasons with Columbus after being moved for fellow Winterhawk alumni Ryan Johansen during the 2015-16 season. During all four seasons of which their was an NHL All-Star Game, Jones represented the Blue Jackets at the event.
Through 580 NHL games to date, Seth has totaled 65 goals and 221 assists for a total of 286 points and 194 penalty minutes (PIM). Eleven days ago, the Blackhawks acquired Caleb Jones as a part of a package from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Duncan Keith.
The brothers left their legacy in Portland after Seth (2012-13) was a member of the WHL Championship-winning roster in addition to winning WHL Rookie of the Year and claiming a gold medal with Team U.S.A. at the IIHF World Junior Championship.
Caleb was in the Rose City from 2015-17, totaling the most assists among all rookies with 45 during his inaugural campaign in the league. In his second season, he also won an IIHF gold medal with Team U.S.A.
