
Serrano Named League's Batter of the Week

DURHAM, NC - Pointstreak, the official statistician of the American Association, has selected Sioux City Explorers C Ray Serrano and Kansas City T-Bones LHP Trent Lare as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
In six games, Serrano batted .652 with two home runs and eight runs batted in. The Augusta, GA resident had 15 hits, scored 10 runs, walked twice and had a slugging percentage of 1.174. In the 13-3 win over the Gary SouthShore RailCats Friday, Serrano had a 4-for-5 night with a double, a triple and four runs scored. On the season, he is hitting .337 with nine home runs and 47 RBIs.
Lare posted a pair of wins this past week against St. Paul and Wichita. He allowed one earned run on six hits with 13 strikeouts and three walks in 15 innings pitched. Since joining the T-Bones in June (trade with Wichita), Lare is 3-0 with a 3.31 ERA in 15 appearances. He has allowed only 28 hits while striking out 28 and walking eight in 35 1/3 IP.
