April 20, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Boise, Idaho - The Allen Americans and Idaho Steelheads continue their ECHL Quarterfinal Series tonight at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, with the best of seven series tied 1-1.
The Americans look to regain home-ice advantage tonight, after giving it away in Game 1. Allen rebounded last Saturday night in Game 2, with a 3-1 victory. Casey Pierro-Zabotel scored two goals and earned the number one star of the game, leading the way to an Allen victory.
"I needed to get off to a great start to help this team be successful," said Americans forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel following the morning skate in Idaho. "I know my role with this team. I was able to score both of my goals this postseason in front of the net and that's where the difference has been in the series."
Casey Pierro-Zabotel and Gary Steffes are tied for the team lead in goals with two each, and Pierro-Zabotel is tied for the ECHL lead with two power play goals. Chad Costello leads the team in points and assists with three. Costello now has points in 21 straight games going back to the regular season.
Riley Gill is expected to get the call in net for Steve Martinson's club. Gill leads the ECHL with a .955 Save Percentage and 1.00 Goals Against Average.
"Riley has been really good in the postseason," said Americans forward and Co-Captain Gary Steffes. "He has the total package and that's the reason he's won two championships in the last four years, and a playoff MVP Award."
The puck drops tonight at 8:10 PM CST. You can watch pay per view on ECHL TV or listen for free online on Hot 107.3 FM. You can also watch the games at one of the two official watching destinations; The Franchise Grill & Bar in Plano or 5th Street Pizza in Allen.
