
Series Finale Slips Away in Lowell

TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats suffered a 2-1 defeat in Lowell, Massachusetts on Sunday night, being swept by the second-place Lowell Spinners.
The ValleyCats outhit the Spinners 8-4, but were only able to muster one run on Alex Holderbach's third home run of the season.
The Spinners scored their only two runs of the game in the sixth inning off of New York-Penn League All-Star Austin Hansen.
Tyler Esplin and Xavier LeGrant came away with run-scoring hits that gave Lowell a 2-0 lead.
Tri-City ended the night having gone 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position, losing their season-high fourth straight game and being swept for the first time this season.
The ValleyCats still lead the Lowell Spinners for first place in the Stedler division standings by half a game.
Tri-City will now return home to face the first place Brooklyn Cyclones on Monday night, August 20th at 7 p.m.
