Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Cutters fell for the 2nd time this season to the West Virginia Black Bears in walk-off fashion, falling 5-4 in 10 innings in the series finale.
Ben Pelletier hit his team-leading 7th home run of the season, while upping his team-leading RBI total to 32 in the loss. The Crosscutters finished the night 2 for 10 with runners in scoring position, leaving eight runners on base.
Ethan Lindow worked five innings of work, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits and three wlks while striking out four in the start. Abdallah Aris suffered the loss, allowing the game-winning runs to score on a two-out, two-strike single in the bottom of the 10th inning.
The Cutters took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the 6th inning for the second night in a row, only to watch it dissolve in the later innings. This time after retaking the lead, they were unable to hold on for the win. The Cutters and Black Bears split the season series 6-6.
