Harrisburg Senators News Release
An early offensive onslaught by the Harrisburg Senators coupled with solid pitching led to a 7-0 victory over the Bowie Baysox on Tuesday Night at Metro Bank Park.
Drew Vettleson (2-for-4, two runs) tripled with two outs in the second inning and was followed with a double by Brian Jeroloman (1-for-3, two RBI) to put Harrisburg on top, 1-0. The Senators added another two-out rally in the third as Matt Skole (4-for-4, run) tripled with two down. He was followed by Kevin Keyes, who launched a moon shot over the left-center field fence - his 4th home run of July. Harrisburg added four more in the fourth on a Jeroloman sacrifice fly, an Adrian Sanchez RBI single and a two-run double by Skole.
The early runs supported James Simmons who fired six innings of scoreless baseball while scattering six hits and striking out four Bowie hitters. Paolo Espino threw two innings of scoreless baseball in relief. Bryan Harper finished off the night with a clean inning of his own.
