July 1, 2022 - Eastern League (EL)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
One night after breaking out for nine runs on twelve hits, the Senators were held scoreless on two hits in their 6-0 loss to Altoona Friday night at PNG Field in Altoona. Altoona scored all they would need on a two-run home run by Andres Alvarez in the second inning. They tacked on four more in the seventh, breaking the game open.
Ronald Herrera pitched the first four frames in his second start since coming off the injured list. He allowed a two-run home run but was otherwise sharp. Herrera took the tough loss. Brian Gonzalez followed and walked two batters but that was it in two innings of work. Richard Guasch pitched one inning, allowed four runs, facing nine batters in his inning of work. Edgar Garcia pitched a scoreless eighth inning.
Harrisburg had just two hits in the game. Jake Alu hit his 21st double of the year to break up the Curve's no-hit bid with two outs in the sixth inning. Gilbert Lara singled with two outs in the eighth inning.
Harrisburg had just one base runner reach second base, the Alu double. With the win, Altoona leads the season series 8-5.
