Reading, Pennsylvania - The Reading Fightin Phils (3-1, 32-41) defeated the Somerset Patriots (1-3, 45-28) by a score of 7-5 on Friday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.

AJ Graffanino put Reading up in the first with a sacrifice fly to score Johan Rojas.

Somerset answered in the next inning with a sacrifice fly by Mickey Gasper to plate Blake Perkins to tie up the contest.

A bases clearing double by Jesus Bastidas in the third put the Patriots up 4-1.

The Fightins took the lead with a four-run sixth inning. Chris Sharpe drove in a run on a double before a two-run single by Kevin Vicuna made it a 4-4 ballgame. Graffanino broke the tie with an RBI single.

Vicuna extended the lead in the seventh with an RBI single to left.

Chad Bell (9) homered for the second straight night in the eighth inning to make it a one-run ballgame.

A wild pitch in the bottom of the inning gave Reading the 7-5 final.

Billy Sullivan (2-0) picked up the win with 1.1 innings pitched. Barrett Loseke (6-1) suffered the loss after he allowed four runs on four hits. Francisco Morales (1) earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning pitched.

Will Warren allowed a run on four hits and struck out six in five innings in a no decision.
