Sens Drop Third Straight to Altoona with 6-5 Loss

The Harrisburg Senators took a 4-0 first inning lead but couldn't hold it, eventually falling to Altoona 6-5 Friday night at PNG Field in Altoona. Altoona scored three times in the third inning and one more in the sixth to tie the game. Harrisburg took a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh but, again, couldn't hold the lead with Altoona plating two in the seventh to take the lead. The Sens had two runners on in the eighth and the tying run at second with one out in the ninth but couldn't tie the game.

Alex Troop started pitched the first six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits. Reid Schaller took the loss, tossing two-thirds of an inning and allowing the game tying home run, a double and an RBI triple. Carson Teel came on and pitched the final 1.1 innings.

Israel Pineda had a second straight big game, going 3-for-3 with a two-run double, two singles and a run scored. Darren Baker had a pair of hits including a double, an RBI and he scored a run. Trey Harris singled in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to eleven games, a Senators season high. Andrew Young went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Wilson Garcia, in his return from the disabled list, had two hits including a run scoring single in the first inning.

All four games in the series have been tied into the seventh inning. Harrisburg went 4-for-13 with runners in scoring position and stranded seven runners. Harrisburg hit into two double plays.
