
Senators Return Home Thursday for a Seven-Game Homestand

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators return home Thursday night to start a seven-game homestand. Division rivals the Akron Aeros and Bowie Baysox are the foes this homestand. The Senators begin the post all-star break portion of their schedule with the best record in the Eastern League at 53-36. Fans coming Thursday night are in for a special treat as RHP Chien-Ming Wang makes another rehab start for the Senators.
The seven games are loaded with great baseball, a retro-giveaway, fireworks, and monkeys. Yes, that's right, monkeys. There's also a bobblehead giveaway and celebrations of the three best teams to play on the Island since 1987. And, of course, 2010 overall number one draft pick Bryce Harper is returning to Harrisburg after appearing in the XM Futures Game on Sunday. Listed below are the specifics from the homestand.
Thursday night, July 14, at 7:00 p.m. the Senators open the homestand with the first of four against the Akron Aeros. The Cowboy Monkeys are making an appearance at Metro Bank Park as they'll perform a couple of times during the game and then a post-game rodeo performance. Enjoy $2 Coors Light Drafts available throughout the ballpark during Thirsty Thursday presented by Coors Light and 105.7 The X. Former New York Yankee starting pitcher Chien-Ming Wang makes his second rehab start for the Senators. It's your first opportunity of the weekend to win a dugout suite or $100 in cash during Launch-A-Ball. Gates open at 6:00 p.m.
Friday night, July 15, at 7:00 p.m. the Senators continue their series against the Aeros. Come on out for Flatscreens & Fireworks Friday Night presented by CBS21 and WINK 104. The Senators will be giving away a flatscreen TV once per every inning throughout the course of the game. All fans 18 and over are eligible to win. After the game, sit back and enjoy one of the Senators outstanding fireworks shows. The Senators Turn Back the Clocks this weekend. On Friday, the clocks are turned back to 1987. The Senators are celebrating the first Harrisburg Senators championship team. Post-game, fans have a chance to win $100 in cash with Launch-A-Ball. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Saturday night, July 16, at 7:00 p.m. the Senators and Akron Aeros play the third game of their series.
Turn Back the Clock Weekend continues as the Senators go back to 1999. The first 1,000 fans, 13 and older, receive a Retro Jersey presented by Metro Bank, CBS21, 93.5 WTPA The Rock of Central PA, and ESPN 1400. Your favorite Sens players are wearing throwback jerseys. Also after the game, fans have another opportunity to win $100 in cash or a dugout suite during Launch-A-Ball, and kids can run the bases, just like their favorite Senator. Gates open on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 17, at 6:00 p.m. is the final game of the four-game series against the Akron Aeros. There's something for everyone in the family on Sunday.
Turn Back the Clock Weekend ends as the Senators celebrate 1993. The day starts when the gates open with a Cliff Floyd Bobblehead giveaway presented by Hoffman Ford, CBS21, BOB 94.9 and The River 97.3. The first 1,000 fans through the gate receive a free bobblehead of former Senator and member of the 25th Season All-Time Team, Cliff Floyd. Make sure to arrive early for pre-game catch on the field prior to the game on Sunday. Come meet all of Rascal's friends who are visiting the ballpark to celebrate Rascal's Birthday! It is also a Kids Eat Free game presented by Cost Cutters, BOB 94.9, and The River 97.3. Every fan 12 and under receives a free meal on Sunday. Monday night, July 18, at 7:00 p.m. is the first game of the three-game series against the Bowie Baysox. The Senators are honoring local fire and police departments during Hometown Heroes Night. Rescue vehicles will be on hand for fans to observe during the game.
Tuesday night, July 19, at 7:00 p.m. the Senators face the Baysox in game two of the series. The Senators are teaming up with the City Islanders to present Soccer Night. Join City Islanders' players before the game for a soccer clinic open to all kids. It is a Kraft Singles Tuesday Night. Wednesday, July 20, at 12:00 p.m. the Senators and Baysox wrap up their series and the homestand.
Wacky Water Wednesday is making a splash, literally, at Metro Bank Park! Expect to get soaked during the game, but don't worry, there will be designated dry areas throughout the park. The watery cool down begins when gates open at 11:00 a.m.
On game days, the Metro Bank Park box office is open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until the end of the game, and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the game. Box office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours.
