Senators Rally but Fall Short in 10

The Reading Fightin Phils held off the Senators 9-8 in 10 innings Tuesday night. Reading scored the placed runner in the 10th inning while the Senators stranded their runner at 3rd base. The Senators rallied from a 5th inning 8-3 deficit to tie the game in the 8th before falling in 10.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Carson Teel started and went the first 4.1 innings allowing 10 hits and 8 runs.

Jhonatan German pitched two-thirds of an inning allowing a hit and a walk.

Ryan Tapani was outstanding, throwing three innings and striking out 8.

Frankie Bartow was the tough luck loser tossing two innings and allowing only the placed runner to score in the 10th inning.

WITH THE GAVEL

Jakson Reetz went 2-for-4 with a home run and single, driving in two runs and he scored twice.

Cole Freeman homered and singled going 2-for-5.

Corban Joseph homered and doubled and scored three runs.

Aldrem Corredor singled driving in two in the fifth inning.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators tallied ten hits to raise their team batting average to .193, their season high. Jakson Reetz reached base, twice, extending his on-base streak to 18 games. It was the Sens second straight errorless game.

The Senators and Reading Fightin Phils play game two of their six-game series Wednesday afternoon at FNB Field at 12:00 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 11:40 a.m.
