Senators' Latimore Wins EL Player of the Week

The Eastern League announced today that Harrisburg Senators' outfielder Quincy Latimore has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for July 28th-August 3rd. Latimore is the first Senator to win the player of the week award this season (A.J. Cole won Pitcher of the Week on May 19).
This past week Latimore hit .391 (9-for-23) with four home runs, six runs scored and 11 RBI. Latimore first hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer on Tuesday at Richmond. The next day, Latimore ended Harrisburg's 406 game streak without a grand slam as he emptied the bases in Harrisburg's 13 inning victory over Richmond. The Senators returned home on Thursday and Latimore hit a two-run home run in the third inning followed later by a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to beat Akron. All four of Latimore's home runs in the week came within 12 at-bats. The 25-year old also pitched in a two-run double in Harrisburg's win on Saturday night over Akron.
Latimore, who was signed as a minor league free agent on April 16 by the Washington Nationals, is hitting .294 with nine home runs and 37 RBI this season. The walk-off homer this week was Latimore's second walk-off hit of July as he also beat Altoona with an RBI single on July 14.
