Davies Named Pitcher of the Week

BOWIE, Md. - Baysox right-handed starting pitcher Zach Davies has been named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Aug. 3. This is the second time this season Davies has been received the honor, also being named Pitcher of the Week June 23.

This past week, Davies went 2-0 with a 2.03 ERA and 13 strikeouts over 13.1 innings and two starts. Davies is 7-2 with a 1.88 ERA in his last nine starts dating back to June 16 and he has allowed no more than two runs in all seven wins. Overall this season, the Orioles #11 prospect is 8-6 with a 3.30 ERA and 82 strikeouts over 84.2 innings of work.
