Harrisburg Senators News Release

Manchester, NH - The Harrisburg Senators were again stifled by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in a 4-0 loss Wednesday in Manchester. The Senators have been shut out in their last 18 offensive innings.

Harrisburg had its best chance in the top of the 1st, putting two on with one out, but New Hampshire LHP Brad Mills shut down the rally and the Senators never posed a serious threat after that. Mills finished with seven shutout innings and struck out nine to lower his ERA to 0.44.

The Fisher Cats got on the board in the bottom of the 1st, loading the bases with nobody out. RHP Adrian Alaniz induced a run-scoring double play and a strikeout to limit the damage, and the Fisher Cats led 1-0.

In the 3rd, New Hampshire mounted a two-out rally. J.P. Arencibia singled with two out and scored on a double by David Smith to make it 2-0.

The Fisher Cats extended their lead in the 5th when Smith drew a two-out walk and Kyle Phillips followed with a two-run homer to right, pushing it to a 4-0 score.

Alaniz was saddled with a tough loss to remain winless at 0-5. Mills (2-1) picked up the win.

The Senators dipped to 67-58. New Hampshire improved to 55-70.

The Senators and Fisher Cats finish the four-game series Thursday with RHP Zack Segovia (2-0, 6.04 ERA) taking on New Hampshire RHP Brandon Magee (6-11, 4.54 ERA). Game time is set for 7:05 PM.
