Senators Bats Heat up to Topple Akron

The Senators pounded out a season-high 14 hits in their 10-4 win over Akron Friday night at FNB Field. Trailing 1-0 into the third inning, the Senators tallied four in the third and four more in the fourth to cruise to their win. Five different Senators batters had at least two hits in the win.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Luis Reyes earned the win going five innings. He allowed two hits and two runs, both home runs in his five innings of work.

Jhon Romero went two innings giving up five hits but only one run.

Frankie Bartow tossed the final two frames and allowed a run on three hits while striking out two.

WITH THE GAVEL

Jake Alu extended his hitting streak to ten games with a double in the second inning. Overall, he went 3-for-5 in the game with an RBI.

Gilbert Lara homered and doubled, drove in two and scored twice.

Jackson Cluff doubled and singled, drove in two and scored one.

Nick Banks went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Cole Freeman had two hits, scored two runs and drove in a run.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators finished the game with a .215 batting average, their highest team batting average of the season. The game took 3:32 which equaled their longest nine-inning game of the season. The teams combined to throw 355 pitches. The Sens had 17 at bats with runners in scoring position.

The Senators and Akron RubberDucks play game five of their six-game series Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 5:40 p.m.
