Second-Half Effort Leads the Go-Go Over the 905

Raptors 905 (0-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors were defeated by the Capital City Go-Go (4-2) in the first of two matchups 101-115 Saturday afternoon. The 905 were led by Mouhamadou Gueye's 22-point, 11-rebound double-double, along with two assists and six blocks. The Go-Go were paced by Hamidou Diallo who contributed his own double-double with 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and a block.

The 905 opened the ball game strong, gaining the upper hand as they led the game by as many as 11 points in the opening seven minutes. Capital City came out of the timeout strong, cutting the lead to three points as the quarter ended. The visitors continued to build off their momentum, opening the quarter on a 9-2 run and taking their first lead of the game. The Go-Go eventually outscored the 905 31-24 in the quarter, taking the four-point advantage going into the break.

The two teams traded baskets back-and-forth throughout the third quarter, however, the Go-Go held onto the six-point lead entering the final frame. Big men Gueye and Patrick Baldwin Jr. (17 points, 10 rebounds) led the way for their respective teams in the fourth, but it was the Go-Go who came away with the victory in Mississauga.

Harper Jr. paced the 905 with 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and a steal. Devon Dotson contributed a 20-point, 10-assist double-double in the victory, adding five rebounds, and three steals.

The two teams meet again to complete the second matchup of the two-game series Monday, tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm.
