Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club is proud to announce Sunday's second annual "Head Shave for Cancer" has raised nearly $19,000. That's almost triple what was raised the first year.

13 Hitmen along with several fans took to center ice following Sunday's 5-1 win over Kelowna to have their head shaved.

Captain Dylan Yeo along with fellow teammates Derek LeBlanc, Brodie Dupont, Freddie Pettersson, Brett Sonne, Dan Mercer, Dan Spence, Eric Frere, Ryan Letts, Brett Plouffe, Brendan Rowinski, Ryan Gillen and Devon Kalinski are now sporting new haircuts.

"I'm so proud of our players, staff and fans who stepped up to raise funds for such a great cause," smiled Hitmen Director of Business Operations Kip Reghenas. "It just goes to show how dedicated the people within our organization and its supporters are to this community."

Iron Cops volunteers collected the donations with an exact dollar figure expected to be announced later this week.

All money raised will be donated to Calgary registered cancer charities that deal with education, support and survivorship for those facing their battle with cancer.

Last year's Hitmen Head Shave raised $7,250.
