Seattle Thunderbirds News Release

Seattle, January 29, 2006 - The Seattle Thunderbirds today announced that as part of the Hockey Challenge 2007 the start time for their game against the Portland Winter Hawks on Saturday, March 3, has been changed to 6:05 p.m. The game was previously a 7:05 p.m. start.

Hockey Challenge 2007 is a one-day hockey event hosted by the Seattle Thunderbirds. Hockey teams are formed by organizations such as Microsoft and Washington Mutual and these teams compete throughout the day. These teams, along with celebrities that appear in the All-Star Celebrity Game, skate to support the children and families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska.

This year the Celebrity All-Star game will take place immediately following the T-Birds game. This allows fans to see T-Birds alumni, including Turner Stevenson and Corey Schwab, skate with celebrities from the television and movie industries.

On January 22 the Seattle Thunderbirds team hosted a pizza party dinner at the Seattle Ronald McDonald House for the families staying at the House. T-Birds team photographer David Pitcher was at the pizza party.

All proceeds from the Challenge directly support operations of the Seattle Ronald McDonald House, which provides a "home-away-from-home" for children and their families during medical treatment, making each day a little easier. Over the past nine years the Hockey Challenge has raised over $3 million for the Seattle Ronald McDonald House.

Tickets to the March 3 game give fans access to all Challenge events for the day. Challenge events include the Celebrity Game, all other challenge games and the T-Birds game against the Portland Winter Hawks at 6:05 p.m.

To purchase tickets to the Challenge call the Thunderbirds at 206-448-PUCK, go online to www.seattlethunderbirds.com/c ommunity/hockeychallenge.php, visit any TicketMaster outler or stop by the Hockey Store located at 14326 124th Ave NE in Kirkland.
