
Sebastian Giovinco Voted MLS Player of the Week

Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for week 13 of the 2015 MLS season.
Giovinco contributed to Toronto FC's attack with two assists to help lead the Reds to a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes this past Saturday. With his two assists he tied the franchise record for assists in a season (6).
Giovinco becomes the ninth player in Toronto FC history to win MLS Player of the Week honours joining: Jozy Altidore (Week 1 - 2015), Jermain Defoe (Week 2 - 2014), Robert Earnshaw (Week 2 - 2013), Danny Koevermans (Week 17 -2012 & Week 27 - 2011), Joao Plata (Week 8 - 2011), Dwayne De Rosario (Weeks 5 & 10 - 2010), Amado Guevara (Week 10 - 2009), and Chad Barrett (Week 17 - 2009).
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at http://www.soccerreporters.com/.
