
SeaWolves Take Down Baysox for Third Straight Win

The SeaWolves took down the Bowie Baysox, 7-3, on Thursday night at Prince George's Stadium to win their third straight game.
Erie jumped ahead in the second against Bowie starter Parker Bridwell . With two outs in the inning, Harold Castro laced a double down the right field line. Castro scored on a Winton Bernard double for a 1-0 lead.
In the third, Bowie capitalized on an Erie error to take the lead. Jason Esposito led off and reached on a Corey Jones error. Mike Yastrzemski singled followed putting two on for Derrik Gibson. Gibson hit into a fielder's choice but Quincy Latimore followed with a walk to load the bases. Sean Halton lifted a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Esposito, tying the game. Mike McDade followed with a single, plating Gibson for a 2-1 Baysox edge.
Bowie held the lead until the sixth. Reliever Matt Hobgood walked Connor Harrell and Austin Green to start the inning. A Castro sacrifice bunt pushed the runners into scoring position. Harrell tied the game, scoring on a Bernard groundout and Green scored on a Brendan Harris knock for a 3-2 lead.
The 'Wolves added to the lead in the seventh against reliever Kenn Kasparek . Dean Green led off with a single for his second hit of the game. It was his team-leading fourth multi-hit game. Jeff McVaney followed with a double putting runners on second and third for James Robbins. Robbins sent a liner to center and on an error by Glynn Davis, both runners scored for a 5-2 lead.
In the eighth, Harris walked with one out and moved into scoring position on a Corey Jones knock. Harris would later score on a McVaney fielder's choice making it 6-2.
Erie added one more insurance run in the ninth when Austin Green turned on a Ben Rowen pitch as he connected on his first home run of the season for a 7-2 lead.
Bowie plated one in the ninth off of reliever Edgar De La Rosa before he shut the door, preserving the Erie win.
Whit Mayberry (1-1) earned the win tossing 2.2 scoreless innings in relief, allowing two hits with no walks while striking out three.
Chad Green took the no-decision allowing a pair of unearned runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work.
