Erie SeaWolves News Release

(Erie, PA) - The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, announce today that the team has partnered with the ANNA Shelter to have rescued dog 'Rocky' fetch a ceremonial first pitch at an upcoming game. The six-month old puppy is currently being nursed back to health.

Rocky was recently discovered in the basement of a house, living in deplorable conditions. The puppy was neglected, emaciated, dehydrated and left to live out his remaining days locked in a metal cage full of his own feces. A man doing maintenance work on the home found the puppy in the inhumane conditions and rescued the dog who was likely less than a day from dying.

Details on the specific game date will be coordinated with the ANNA Shelter. The SeaWolves will hold a donation drive on the game date where fans can bring in items to help the ANNA Shelter. Any fan who brings one of the items on the list will receive a complimentary ticket to the Thursday, July 23 game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) at 7:05 p.m.
