ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION... Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their fourth consecutive win as they take the field in the middle game of a three-game series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) at MerchantsAuto.Com Stadium. The SeaWolves picked up their sixth come-from-behind win on Friday night to win their third straight road game, tying a season-best road winning streak. Erie has not won four straight on the road this season and the last time the âWolves won four straight games was a part of the clubs longest winning streak of the season, six games May 8-13. The âWolves have won seven of their last 10 games, all against the EL North. After beginning the season with 56 consecutive games against the Southern Division, the âWolves are in a stretch of 12 straight against the Northern Division. Erie will play 41 games against the EL North this season...Erie is in a stretch of 11 out of 14 and 17 out of 24 games away from "The Uht." Last night also begun a streak of 11 straight and 17 of 21 that Erie will face teams with sub-.500 records...Righty Josh Rainwater takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 20th appearance and first start of the season. With Alfredo Figaro making a start for the Detroit Tigers today, Rainwater gets the spot start. It will be his first appearance against the Fisher Cats. Rainwater last appeared on Wednesday at Portland. He tossed one inning, allowing two runs on two hits with a strikeout and no walks. Rainwater made 23 starts for the SeaWolves in 2008...Erie is 10-games over .500 for the first time since May 15 (22-12 - After GM 2 of a DH). Erie's season-high above .500 mark was 11 games (22-11) May 15 (Following GM 1 of a DH).
TODAY'S NOTABLES - - Erie leads the season series over New Hampshire 3-1. The SeaWolves and Fisher Cats meet six times in 2009. - Erie's pitching staff is sixth in the league with a 3.65 team ERA. New Hampshire is fifth in the EL with a 3.42 team ERA. - Erie is tied for third in the league with a .266 team batting average. New Hampshire is 11th in the league with a .240 team batting average. - The SeaWolves lead the league with 76 home runs and 336 runs scored. Erie has hit 15 more home runs that the next closest team (Harrisburg with 61). - Ryan Strieby is second in the league with 14 home runs, 46 RBI. He is third with a .558 slugging percentage, tied for third with 43 runs scored and is fifth with a .414 on-base percentage.Strieby has not homered in 11 straight games - second longest streak of consecutive games without a home run.
