TUKWILA, Wash. - Sean Okoli recorded two goals and one assist as Seattle Sounders FC (3-1-2, 11 points) beat Arizona United SC (USL-Pro), 5-1, in the MLS Reserve League on Monday afternoon at Starfire Stadium.
Neagle opened the scoring in the 28th minute. After Okoli and Tristan Bowen combined on the flank, Bowen sent a dangerous cross into the box that was deflected by the Arizona goalkeeper. Neagle pounced on the rebound and tapped it into the net.
Okoli doubled the lead in the 32nd minute when Jalil Anibaba sent a cross into the box. Okoli controlled the bouncing ball and poked it past the goalkeeper for the 2-0 lead.
Okoli scored his second of the match in the 38th minute. Aaron Kovar lofted a cross into the box from the left flank and Okoli rose about his defender to slam the header into the roof of the net.
Seattle added its fourth goal in the 65th minute when Okoli found Bowen in the box. Bowen cut across his defender and placed the shot past the diving goalkeeper with the outside of his right foot.
Arizona pulled one goal back in the 75th minute when London Woodberry headed in a corner kick from Sam Garza.
Kenny Cooper scored the final goal of the match in the 90th minute when he chased down a loose ball and beat the goalkeeper to the far post.
The teams nearly traded late goals as Andy Rose's shot in the 80th minute was cleared off the line and Arizona's Jon Okafor blasted his shot off the crossbar in the 87th minute.
Sounders FC has one remaining MLS Reserve League match this season, visiting the Colorado Rapids on October 6. Seattle's reserve match against Real Salt Lake on September 13 has been cancelled.
