Seattle Reign FC Forward Katie Johnson Called in for Four Nations Tournament
SEATTLE - Mexico women's national team head coach Roberto Medina Arellano recently announced the roster for the team's upcoming Four Nations Tournament in China. Seattle Reign FC forward Katie Johnson is among the 21 players selected. Johnson returns to the roster after being called in for the Bronze Medal Celebration match against Canada in February. The forward started and played the full 90, scoring once in the 3-2 loss. In NWSL play this season, Johnson appeared in 23 matches, starting five, and tallied four goals and two assists.
Mexico will play three matches, facing off against Brazil, China, and North Korea, in Chongquing, China. The first match is set for Thursday, October 19th at 1:00am PT when Mexico faces Brazil. On Saturday, October 21, Mexico will play their second match and face China at 4:35am PT. Mexico will close out the tournament against North Korea on Tuesday, October 24 at 1:00am PT.
