Spokane Indians News Release

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Indians (3-2) and Everett AquaSox (4-1) sport the Northwest League's top two records, and will square off for a pivotal three-game series starting today, Tuesday, June 23rd and ending on Thursday, June 25th. Everett leads the league in hitting with a team average of .314, and will face a Spokane pitching staff with a 3.60 ERA, second-best in the league.

The AquaSox, an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, feature a roster full of Seattle's top prospects. Among them includes the No. 6 overall pick in the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft, Alex Jackson. Jackson is currently hitting .316 with seven hits and two home runs. He will be the first top 10 draft pick in the Seattle organization to play at Avista Stadium since catcher Mike Zunino in 2012. Zunino was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 draft, and slugged three homers at Avista Stadium in two games before being promoted.

Also on the roster is No. 7 overall prospect Luiz Gohara, who will start on the mound tonight. Andrew Moore (2nd/2015 out of Oregon State University) and Braden Bishop (3rd/2015 out of University of Washington) will also make the trip to Avista Stadium.

Other notable local prospects include two Washington State Cougars, as catcher PJ Jones and left-handed pitcher Joe Pistorese are on the AquaSox roster.

Tickets for the Everett series still remain. Click here, or call the Spokane Indians Ticket Office at (509) 343-OTTO (6886).
