Seacoast Mavericks Make the Most of 4 Hits in 5-1 Victory over the Torrington Titans

June 17, 2015 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL)
Torrington Titans News Release

The Seacoast Mavericks (5-6) and the Torrington Titans (5-5) both had scoring chances on Tuesday, but it was the Seacoast Mavericks that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 5-1 win at Fuessenich Park.

Zach Goldstein did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Seacoast Mavericks, reaching base two times. He singled in the fourth inning.

Austin French put together a nice outing. The Torrington Titans managed just three hits off of French, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out three during his six innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Torrington Titans' Frank Valentino dominated the Seacoast Mavericks' batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.

Valentino ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
