The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (18-28) had a tough outing on Thursday, as the Torrington Titans (18-27) dominated in a 7-1 win at Fuessenich Park. The Torrington Titans scored two runs in the fifth on the Torrington Titans scored in the fifth on an RBI double by Mike DeMartino and an RBI double by Mike Foley. Foley had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. Nick Mondak struck out six hitters en route to the the Torrington Titans win. The Torrington Titans' pitcher gave up just four hits over five shutout innings. Jacob Byrne was solid at the plate for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. Byrne went 3-4. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings. Kevin Tise ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked four and struck out two. The Torrington Titans were sparked by DeMartino and Foley, who teamed up for six hits and five RBIs.
