Early Lead Gives the Worcester Bravehearts Easy

August 3, 2016 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL)
Torrington Titans News Release

The Worcester Bravehearts (33-16) shut the door early on the Torrington Titans (19-29), capturing a 15-2 victory on Tuesday at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.

Nine runs in the first three innings allowed the Worcester Bravehearts to put the game away early.

An error, a wild pitch, a two-run double by Zack Tower, an error, an RBI single by Dante Ricciardi, and an RBI single by Ryan Ward during the first inning and a solo home run by Tower and a sacrifice fly by Ricciardi in the second inning fueled the Worcester Bravehearts' offense early.

Tower got on base five times in the game for the Worcester Bravehearts. He scored four runs and had three RBIs.

Kevin Stone's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Worcester Bravehearts past the Torrington Titans. Stone allowed one earned run on four hits and four walks over five innings.

Chris Enns ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in one-third of an inning, walked one and struck out one.
