Biloxi, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 on the road last Monday, and then split a pair of road games at South Carolina, winning 2-1 on Wednesday and falling 4-1 on Sunday.

DULUTH, GA - Ryan Menei had three assists, Ryan Munce made 40 saves to earn his 10th win of the season, and Scott Jackson's first goal as a Sea Wolf stood as the game-winner as Mississippi snapped a seven-game winless streak with a 4-3 win over the Gwinnett Gladiators at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Monday Night.

Mike Berry staked the Sea Wolves to a 1-0 lead when he pounded the rebound of Chris Lawrence's shot past Gladiators goalie Josh Johnson at 10:46 of the first period. Gwinnett evened the contest when Brandon Kaleniecki found former Sea Wolf Chris Cava open on the left wing with a pass that Cava converted on a one-timer at 11:33. Mark Rooneem gave the Sea Wolves back the lead when he broke in alone on Johnson and made a dazzling stickhandling move and tucked the puck under him at 15:59.

Jason Tejchma gave the Sea Wolves a 3-1 lead when he stationed himself at the right post and tapped in a pass from Mike Berry at 8:43 of the second period. The Gladiators cut the lead back to one when Jordan Fox broke down the right wing and beat Ryan Munce high on the glove side at 13:04 of the second.

Gwinnett tied the game early in the third period when Scott Marchesi's point shot beat Munce through traffic at 4:35. Scott Jackson's power-play blast from the right point beat Johnson over the glove for the game-winner at 16:40 of the third.

Ryan Munce made 41 saves to earn his 10th win of the year, and the Sea Wolves were 1-for-5 on the power play.

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - Alex Parent's 10th goal of the season stood as the game-winner as the Mississippi Sea Wolves rang out 2008 with a 2-1 win over the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum on Wednesday night.

Mark Rooneem got Mississippi on the board when he picked up an errant pass from the Stingrays' Sasha Pokulok, broke down the slot and fired a wrist shot past South Carolina goalie Bobby Goepfert at 4:25 of the first period. Travis Morin evened the score for the Stingrays when he banged home a rebound of a shot from Jeff Corey at 11:51.

Rookie Alex Parent netted his 10th goal of the season on the power play when he grabbed Mike Berry's centering pass and deked Goepfert to the ice and tucked the puck behind him at 10:42 of the second.

The Sea Wolves killed off three third period penalties and Ryan Munce made 17 saves as Mississippi held on for the win. Munce made a game total 44 saves, earning his 11th win of the season, and the Sea Wolves killed off all seven South Carolina power plays.

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - Jeremy Hall scored the Mississippi Sea Wolves' lone goal as the Sea Wolves fell 4-1 to the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum on Sunday.

Jeff Corey's one-timer on a feed from Maxime Lacroix beat Sea Wolves goalie Mike Teslak over the glove to give South Carolina a 1-0 lead at 18:48 of the first period.

Jeremy Hall drew the Sea Wolves even with the Stingrays when his shot from the top of the right circle trickled past South Carolina netminder Ian Vigier at 2:08 of the second. Maxime Lacroix split the Sea Wolves defense and fired a shot past Teslak to give the Stingrays back the lead at 15:50 of the second. Lacroix would later pick up the rebound of a shot from Travis Morin at 19:05 to extend the Stingrays' lead to 3-1.

Jeff Corey would add his second goal of the game for insurance at 14:50 of the third period.

Mike Teslak made 37 saves, taking the loss, and the Sea Wolves power play was 0-for-4

The next broadcast of Sea Wolves hockey is Friday when the Sea Wolves visit the Florida Everblades at 6:30 CT, and will be heard on the B2 Networks and at www.msseawolves.com. The pre-game show presented by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College will begin 15 minutes before the opening faceoff!

Hooks and Heels

The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced on Monday that the team will present Hooks And Heels 2009 on Tuesday, January 6 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, an evening program that will showcase the game of hockey's hidden elements both on and off the ice to the teams' female fans.

The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a "pre-game meal" and meet-and-greet session with the Sea Wolves players and staff. At 6:30, participants will divide up into groups and begin cycling through seven stations that will highlight different aspects of the game of professional ice hockey. Participants will get to learn about conditioning and player medical treatment with Sea Wolves athletic trainer B.J. Leyser, a locker room tour with equipment questions answered by Sea Wolves players, a tour of the players lounge and a skate sharpening demonstration with Sea Wolves equipment manager Donny White, puck handling drills and shoot-and-score activities with the players, a Zamboni and ice-surface discussion with building engineers, and a radio broadcast session with Sea Wolves play-by-play man Leif Skodnick.

The cost of the evening is $30, and includes a t-shirt and refreshments. Fans can register at the Sea Wolves office at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum or by calling the team's office at 228.275.WOLF!

Pink In The Rink Press Conference

The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced that the team will be holding a press conference on Tuesday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 1600 East Beach Boulevard in Gulfport.

Members of the Sea Wolves organization including team president Bill Yates, head coach Steffon Walby, director of broadcasting and communications Leif Skodnick, players, as well as representatives of the Memorial Hospital Foundation including foundation president David Estorge will be on hand to discuss facets of the Sea Wolves' second annual Pink In The Rink Event, scheduled for the February 7 game against the Cincinnati Cyclones.

All Sea Wolves fans are invited to attend.
