SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Head Coach/General Manager announced today that the team has traded overage forward Francois Gauthier and a fifth round selection at the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft to Val-d'Or in exchange for the Forerus' first pick at the 2009 CHL Import Draft.

"Francois was a big part of our success last season and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours," said Beaulieu.

Originally acquired by the Sea Dogs from the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on December 29, 2006 in exchange for a fifth round pick at the 2007 QMJHL Entry Draft, Gauthier skated in 113 games for Saint John during his tenure with the team.
