CHARLOTTETOWN - The Saint John Sea Dogs selected forward Olivier Mathieu with the eleventh overall pick in the 2016 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft.

Mathieu, 16, had 23 goals and 50 points in 46 games last season with the Magog Cantonniers of the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League (LHMAAAQ) where he was a teammate of 2015 first-rounder and Saint John prospect, goalie Alex D'Orio.

Mathieu, the native of Drummondville, also had seven goals and 14 points in 18 playoff games.

The Sea Dogs would like to congratulate Mathieu and welcome him to his new Saint John family.
