Halifax Mooseheads News Release
The Halifax Mooseheads made things exciting on Saturday morning at the QMJHL Entry Draft in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
General Manager Cam Russell used the first overall selection on Gatineau forward Benoit-Olivier Groulx before making a trade with Baie-Comeau to also land the second overall selection. Russell then picked Cole Harbour defenceman Jared McIsaac as the team walked away with the two top ranked players available.
Halifax sent the seventh, 16th and 21st selections in 2016 to Baie-Comeau along with the rights to Rouyn-Noranda's first round pick in 2017 in exchange for the second overall pick.
