
Sea Dogs Score Season-High 16 Runs

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs (32-32, 72-61) set a new season-high with 16 runs scored in a 16-4 win over the Hartford Yard Goats (26-37, 55-75) on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field.
Five Sea Dogs recorded multi-hit games while four recorded multi-RBI games. Tyler Dearden launched his seventh homer of the season while Nathan Hickey connected for a pair of doubles to record four RBI. The Sea Dogs also stole six bases against the Yard Goats.
Kyle Datres put Hartford on the board with a solo homer in the top of the second.
Portland took the lead with a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the inning to record his seventh of the season.
In the bottom of the third, the Sea Dogs brought five runs home to score. The scoring was kickstarted with a two-run double from Nathan Hickey (16) before a two-run double from Alex Binelas (18) would extend the 6-1 lead. Binelas stole third before scoring on an error to the catcher and Portland led 7-1.
Jordan Beck hit a solo homer to left center field in the top of the fourth before a sacrifice fly from Braxton Fulford cut into the Portland lead.
Portland scored four more in the bottom of the fourth highlighted by a double steal from Nick Yorke (17) and Roman Anthony (3). With Anthony stealing home, the Sea Dogs led 8-3. Hickey hit his second two-run double (17) of the day before an RBI double from Kyle Teel would bring him home to extend the 11-3 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Anthony hit a two-run double (4) before scoring on an RBI single from Chase Meidroth. A bases-loaded walk drawn by Teel would cap off the four-run fifth.
Grant Lavigne hit a solo homer in the top of the sixth to cut into the lead.
Teel would complete the scoring on either side in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI groundout to record his third RBI of the day and Portland led 16-4.
RHP Isaac Coffey (7-4, 3.92 ERA) earned the win after pitching 4.0 innings allowing three runs on four hits while walking two and striking out three. The loss was issued to Hartford starter RHP Case Williams (1-11, 7.08 ERA) after pitching 2.2 innings allowing seven runs on five hits while walking three and striking out three.
Zack Kelly tossed two innings on a MLB rehab assignment for the Sea Dogs allowing one hit, a home run to Datres. He struck out one and did not walk a batter tossing 24 pitches, 14 for strikes.
The Sea Dogs return to Hadlock Field tomorrow, September 14th for game three of a six-game series against the Hartford Yard Goats. First pitch for game three is slated for 6:00pm. Portland will start RHP Wikelman Gonzalez (3-1, 2.28 ERA) while Hartford will give the ball to RHP Connor Van Scoyoc (1-1, 5.80 ERA).
