Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly announced today that forward Will Johnston has been recalled from the Summerside Western Capitals. The 19-year old was recently named the MJAHL's Reebok CCM Player of the Week.
Johnston has registered 27GP-14G-12A-26P with the Capitals this season. He currently ranks fourth in the MJAHL in penalty minutes with 130. A native of Charlottetown, PEI, Johnston tallied 37GP-5G-18A-23P-231PIM last year with Summerside.
Saint John acquired Johnston's rights from Montreal on August 19, 2009, in a trade that sent a 12th round entry draft pick to the Juniors. The 6'3", 210 lb. winger was originally selected by the Shawinigan Cataractes in the sixth round (91st overall) of the 2007 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Currently leading the QMJHL with a record of 34-6-1-0, the Sea Dogs kick off a five-game home stand tomorrow night at 7:00pm versus the Moncton Wildcats (24-11-1-3). Saint John will also face Cape Breton (Friday, 7:30pm) and Montreal (Saturday, 7:00pm) at Harbour Station later this week. Tickets to all upcoming Sea Dogs home games are available online at www.tickets.harbourstation.ca.
