
Sea Dogs Rally Twice to Top Akron 6-4

Portland, Maine - Sam Travis broke a 2-2 tie with an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Sea Dogs defeated the Akron RubberDucks 6-4 Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd at Hadlock Field.
For the second straight night, Akron scored the game's first run in the top of the first inning. Bryson Myles led off with a double and would later score on a sac fly from Bradley Zimmer to give the RubberDucks the 1-0 lead.
Portland would answer in the fourth inning off of RubberDucks starter D.J. Brown, who was making his Double-A debut. Sam Travis led off the frame with a solo home run over the Maine Monster to tie the game 1-1, it was Travis' third homer of the season. Two batters later, Carlos Asuaje hit a solo home run to right center field to make it 2-1 Sea Dogs. The homer was Asuaje's second in as many days.
Akron tied the game up in the top of the fifth inning. With Bryson Myles on second base, Carlos Moncrief hit a fly ball to deep center field and Manuel Margot made a leaping catch while crashing into the wall. Margot held onto the ball but went down to the ground and Myles tagged up and scored from second base to tie the game 2-2.
Tzu-Wei Lin led off the sixth inning with a walk, and Sam Travis immediately followed up with a double that scored Lin from first base to give Portland a 3-2 lead. Later in the inning Travis scored on a wild pitch by Ben Heller to make it 4-2.
Portland added two more runs in the seventh off of Zach Nuding on a two-out, two-run single by Carlos Asuaje to score Lin and Travis. Akron make it a 6-4 game in the top of the ninth on a two-run homer by Carlos Moncrief off of Kyle Martin.
Madison Younginer (7-4) earned the win, working 2.2 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit. Luis Diaz started the game for Portland and allowed two earned runs on four hits in five innings. Kyle Martin closed out the game with a four-out save - his third of the season.
The rubber match of the series takes place tomorrow afternoon, first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM . Adam Plutko (7-4, 2.84) gets the start for Akron while Portland's starter is TBA.
