Portland Sea Dogs News Release

Portland, Maine- Mother Nature: 1, Sea Dogs: 0.Thursday's Portland Sea Dogs Opening Day game against the Reading Fightin Phils at Hadlock Field has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. Mother Nature dropped several inches of snow on Hadlock Field overnight, spoiling the Sea Dogs' 2015 season opening game.

The Sea Dogs guaranteed baseball would be played at Hadlock Field on Opening Day (April 9th), as a result, anyone with tickets for April 9th, may exchange each ticket for two tickets of equal or lesser value to any 2015 Sea Dogs home game, subject to availability. Any questions regarding rained out tickets can be directed towards the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or tickets@seadogs.com .

"Our grounds crew and stadium operations staff did an incredible job getting the ballpark ready to play," stated Sea Dogs General Manager Geoff Iacuessa. "However, Mother Nature had other plans and we will be honoring our Opening Day guarantee."

On Camera Meteorologist Keith Carson from The Weather Channel was scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Iacuessa stated, "The team would not hold Carson responsible for the Opening Day snowfall."

Thursday's postponed game will be made-up as a single admission doubleheader on Saturday, May 23rd at 1:00 PM. The doubleheader will consist of two seven inning games. Tickets for May 23rd are good for both games of the doubleheader.

The Sea Dogs are scheduled to play Friday night, April 10th at 6:00 PM at Hadlock Field against the Reading Fightin Phils.

Tickets are available for all 2015 Sea Dogs home games. Book your nine inning vacation by calling the Sea Dogs ticket office at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com .
