
Sea Dogs Lead Country with Nine Potential NHL Picks

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Nine Saint John Sea Dogs appeared on the National Hockey League's Central Scouting midseason rankings released Monday.
Forward Jonathan Huberdeau, ranked fourth among all North American skaters, was the top Sea Dog on the list, which forecasts the best prospects available for the 2011 NHL draft. The Sea Dogs have a total of four players in the top 24, including defenseman Nathan Beaulieu (No. 9), and forwards Zack Phillips (No. 12) and Tomas Jurco (No. 24).
The Sea Dogs, No. 1in the Canadian Hockey League national rankings with a 33-5-0-2 ranking, also boast the greatest number of draft-eligible prospects ranked by Central Scouting.
Rounding out the Sea Dogs contingent are forwards Ryan Tesink (No. 49), Scott Oke (No. 58), Aidan Kelly (No. 80), Jason Cameron (No. 114), and defenseman Gabriel Bourret (No. 108).
Drummondville Voltigeurs forward Sean Couturier is the top-ranked prospect from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and No. 2 overall behind Gabriel Landeskog of the Ontario League's Kitchener Rangers.

Couturier's Voltigeurs (26-11-5-1) will be in town for a pair of games Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday (7 p.m.) at Harbour Station. Saint John's next home game is Tuesday at 7 p.m. against the Prince Edward Island Rocket (20-18-1-2).
