MOVING DAY: Portland opens up an 8-game roadtrip in seven days, taking on the Connecticut Defenders at Dodd Stadium on Tuesday night...The Sea Dogs are coming off a stretch of 12 straight games against Erie and Akron, going 5-7 in those contests...Portland finished 3-3 on their recent homestand and completing their first series win this month on Sunday against Akron.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Daniel Haigwood (2-3) fired six strong innings on three hits and one run, leading the Sea Dogs to a 3-1 victory in the series finale over Akron on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field. Haigwood's lone blemish came on Jordan Brown's two-out, solo home run in the sixth inning. Beau Vaughan relieved Haigwood and hurled two scoreless innings in relief, notching his fifth hold of the season. Mike James yielded a single and a walk but retired Trevor Crowe and Michael Aubrey to end the game. Zach Borowiak knocked in Portland's first run with a two-out RBI single in the third. Borowiak scored the second run when Iggy Suarez reached on a third baseman's error. The ‘Dogs added an insurance run in the sixth inning on Cory Keylor's sacrifice fly.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU: Tonight, Portland begins a stretch where they play four consecutive series against Connecticut and New Hampshire...The Sea Dogs will face the Defenders nine times in the next 10 days, including two doubleheaders.

HE'S A QUALITY GUY: Daniel Haigwood has earned quality starts in both of his wins this season...Haigwood's first win in the Red Sox Organization came on June 1 when he beat Connecticut at Hadlock Field...The trio of Michael Bowden, Tommy Hottovy and Haigwood have all made quality starts in Portland's last three games.

IT WASN'T JACOBY THIS TIME: Third baseman Andrew Pinckney became the first Sea Dog this season to steal two bases in one game...Jacoby Ellsbury was the previous Sea Dog to swipe two bases in one game but that happened August 28, 2006.

HOW MANY IN A ROW: The Sea Dogs are playing game seven of 37 straight games in New England, their next trip outside Maine, Connecticut or New Hampshire is July 18 at Binghamton.
