BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN : The Sea Dogs return home after a 3-4 roadtrip, and open up a 7-game homestand on Friday night against the Binghamton Mets...This marks the third series between the two teams this season - Portland has won both series...With last night's win, the 'Dogs improved to 6-0 in series finales away from Maine...Right-hander Matt Barnes makes his eighth start of the season and the first of his career against Binghamton...Barnes is 2 -0, 1.06 ERA (2 ER/17.0 IP) in three starts this month.

OFFENSIVE SURGE : Portland scored 17 runs in their first 6 games of the trip, but established season-highs in runs and hits, blasting the Fisher Cats 15-4 on Thursday...The Sea Dogs had 18 hits and established team highs in extra-base his (9) and doubles (7)...Travis Shaw went 4-for-5 with a homer, two doubles and 4 RBI...Michael Almanzar had a career-high 5 RBI, finishing 3-for-5, HR...Brandon Workman (5-1) tossed six innings on seven hits, three runs and six strikeouts to earn the win...Derrik Gibson and Tony Thomas had three hits...Miguel Celestino worked the final three innings to earn his first Double-A save.
