New Britain, CT -The visiting Fisher Cats took the first game of a three-game series on Friday night, beating the Rock Cats 4-3. With two on in the ninth and reliever RHP Michael Tonkin on the hill, 1B Clint Robinson put a ball into play that was misplayed by SS Danny Santana, allowing the visitors to pull ahead with the winning run.

The Rock Cats would answer back with two of their own the bottom of the frame when both C Josmil Pinto and OF Daniel Ortiz crossed the plate thanks to a fielder's choice and single by OF Dan Rohlfing. The home team would tack on another run the next inning when a Pinto single scored 2B James Beresford.

The score would remain that way until the top of the sixth when the Fisher Cats evened the score with thanks to a two-run homer by SS Kevin Nolan, the first batter faced by LHP Edgar Ibarra upon replacing Meyer after 5 1/3 innings of work.

Friday's contest would remain deadlocked at three a side until a groundball would find its way through Santana's glove, the home side's third error of the game, allowing CF Kevin Pillar to score the tiebreaking run.

The Rock Cats and Fisher Cats face off again Saturday night at 6:35 p.m. with the Rock Cats sending LHP Logan Darnell to the bump and LHP Sean Nolin starts for the Fisher Cats.
