The Sea Dogs and Binghamton Mets play game two of their three-game series on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field...Portland holds a 4.5 game lead over the Mets for the top spot in the division.

NEWS AND NOTES

PART TWO : The Sea Dogs and Binghamton Mets continue their three-game series at Hadlock Field on Tuesday night...Portland has won six straight over the B-Mets in Maine, and eight of their last nine home games...With last night's win, the 'Dogs hold a 4.5 game lead over Binghamton for the top spot in the Eastern League's Eastern Division...If Portland wins this series, they will guarantee a winning record in series at Hadlock Field (currently 10-3-1)...RHP Luis Diaz makes his second start against the Mets and seventh with Portland.

GREAT BATTLE : Portland snapped a 3-3 tie with two runs in the seventh inning and held on for a 6-4 win over the Mets on Monday...Sean Coyle (2-for-5, 2 RBI) gave the 'Dogs a 4-3 lead with a run-scoring ground out...Portland made it 5-3 when David Chester fanned, but reached base on a strikeout-wild pitch...Stefan Welch added an insurance run in the eighth inning, delivering a two-out RBI single, giving the 'Dogs a 6-4 lead...RHP Mike McCarthy earned the win in relief, working three innings on three runs (two homers)...1B Ryan Lavarnway went 0-for-4 with a run-scoring groundout.
