SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly announced today that the team has acquired overage goaltender Marco Cousineau from the P.E.I. Rocket. The Rocket receive second, fourth, and seventh round picks at the 2010 Entry Draft as well as a third round pick in 2011 in exchange for Cousineau's services. Saint John also obtains a fifth round 2010 draft selection from P.E.I. as part of the trade.

"Marco is a talented goalie with a significant amount of post-season experience," says Kelly. "He's a great addition to our roster and we're looking forward to having him in Saint John for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs."

Cousineau, 20, backstopped the Drummondville Voltigeurs to a President's Cup Championship last season, registering a record of 13-3 in addition to a G.A.A. of 2.44 and a SV% of 0.910 during the '09 QMJHL post-season. The Les Cedr=E8s, QC native subsequently captured the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy as the top goaltender at the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup Tournament in Rimouski, QC.

In 156 career regular season appearances with Drummondville, P.E.I., and Baie-Comeau, Cousineau has tallied a record of 69-74 in addition to a G.A.A. of 3.18 and a SV% of 0.896. The Anaheim Ducks selected the 6'0", 200 lb. net minder in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Currently leading the QMJHL with a record of 33-6-1-0, the Sea Dogs will face the Wildcats (23-11-1-2) in Moncton tomorrow night at 7pm in the opening game of a home-and-home series. The provincial adversaries will meet again on Saturday night at 7pm at Harbour Station (Box Office: 657-1234).
