Wilmington Sea Dawgs News Release

Buffalo, NY- Despite a game high 24 from Tyrone Rayson, Wilmington went on three big runs as the Sea Dawgs moved to 4-3 with a 92-82 victory over home standing Buffalo.

In a quarter that went back and forth for the first half of the first quarter, Wilmington lead 24-16 after one. At one point, Buffalo held a brief 9-7 lead, but then Wilmington went on a 10-0 run lead by a Cedric McGinnis jumper and a little leaner by Jermaine Williams. Buffalo would cut the lead to four on a three pointer by Tyrone Rayson, but Wilmington went on a 7-2 run to end the quarter and the Sea Dawgs had an eight point lead after one. Rayson would score ten of his team's 16 in the stanza.

In the second, Buffalo tried to make a game of it, cutting the lead to three with 6:47 to go in the half, but then Kris Clark hit a three starting a 9-0 run and the lead hit 14 with a Williams jumper. Alex Harper nailed a three with four seconds to go in the half and the Sea Dawgs had a commanding 47-35 lead at the break.

In the third, Buffalo would not go away. After a Jermaine Williams jumper extended the lead to 18 at the 8:54 mark, Buffalo went on a 13-2 run lead by a pair of Rayson jumpers and a long range bomb from Karl Rainey. But then it was a 9-0 run by the Sea Dawgs as Buffalo simply could not match Wilmington run for run.

In the fourth, it went back and forth but Buffalo simply did not have the legs and the Sea Dawgs drop Buffalo to 1-7 on the season and virtually eliminating the Stampede from the playoff race.
